Although I could describe myself in a number of ways, the most important are: saved, servant, and still learning. I am a Baptist Minister; I believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Moreover, I am committed to the concept of Soul Liberty, which states that every individual has the liberty to choose what his/her soul dictates is right as it pertains to religion/spirituality. I'd be happy to talk with you about religion/spirituality and/or to discuss your relationships, career aspirations and other celebrations and concerns.
As a chaplain, I meet with students in small groups and one-on-on and facilitate Black Grad Ministries, a diverse fellowship of Jesus followers and friends. All are welcome to join our fun and introspective gatherings! Shoot me an e-mail and I'll be sure to send you the details.
I'd like to add that I support the #BlackLivesMatter movement because it is aligned with my theology. I believe that God made each of us in His image and we are ALL His beloved. I know of no other constellation of organizations as successful and as visible as BLM. Have questions or beg to differ...? I would be honored to converse with you in person. I am also passionate about Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Climate Change, and Education.
My chaplain experience spans Tufts University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and First Church Shelter for the Homeless. Other identifiers include: he/him/his, Detroiter, Howard University and Harvard Divinity School Alumnus, poet, traveler, tennis attempter, dance aficionado, and connoisseur of stories and laughter. Feel free to find me on social media and to interact as you are comfortable. I'm always excited to meet on/near campus for coffee or lunch.
All the best!
