THANK YOU!

Whether you were in person or from afar, your energy created a butterfly effect in supporting the 2025 Harvard Interfaith Meal-Packaging Service Project, a collaboration among the Harvard Chaplains, the Harvard Presidential Initiative on Interfaith Engagement, and The Outreach Program.

On November 16, you packed a Harvard record 67,608 (yes, 67!) meals in our effort to end hunger...that's 11,268 packages in 313 boxes over 8 hours! And donors contributed $26,600, which means even more meals were packed by EndHungerNE after our event...71,814 is the final number of meals funded!

Over 250 of you volunteered to set up, scoop, weigh, seal, pack, tape, box, wheel, lift, high-five, clean up, and more, for which we are so grateful. Meals packed included rice and beans, pasta with tomato basil sauce, macaroni and cheese, and apple cinnamon oatmeal. How would you describe the day to others? A professional photographer came for part of the time, so check out the engaging photos highlighting the day's energy:

We hope for the day that this type of event will not be needed, but in the meantime, we continue to do our part to address hunger from many angles. Please read about the 10 fantastic organizations that received the meals you packed:

  1. Haitian Health Foundation, CT and Haiti
  2. Rose’s Bounty food pantry, Boston
  3. Healthy Waltham
  4. Catholic Charities of Boston
  5. Micro Food Pantry Program, Chelsea
  6. The Elizabeth Peabody House, Somerville
  7. A Place to Turn, Natick
  8. Wesley United Methodist Church, Worcester
  9. Cambridge Community Center food pantry
  10. United Communities, Weymouth

We look forward to hosting future events, but it doesn't stop now...you can donate and pack meals year-round at a warehouse hosted by EndHungerNE in Pembroke, MA, to feed food-insecure families in the New England area. Matthew Martin, whom many of you met during the event, is the amazing lead at EndHungerNE. Thank you, Matthew, for being an amazing partner for almost 15 years!
