IMPORTANT: The Harvard Chaplains are NOT a crisis hotline service. We have a chaplain on call who will return your call as soon as possible for urgent spiritual support needs.

- Death or serious illness of a community member
- Campus or community tragedy
- Personal spiritual emergency requiring immediate support
- Situations where you need confidential support
What is NOT a crisis?
- General inquiries about chaplaincy services
- Non-urgent requests to speak with a chaplain
- Information requests about events or programs
The crisis line is answered by rotating Harvard Chaplains who are on call to respond to genuine crisis situations. Please respect the purpose of this line to ensure availability for those in true need.
Emergency Mental Health Resources
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact CAMHS Cares at (617) 495-2042.
The CAMHS Cares Line (617) 495-2042 is a 24/7 support line for Harvard students who have mental health concerns, whether they are in immediate distress or not, on-campus or elsewhere.
In a life-threatening emergency, call HUPD at (617) 495-1212 or 911.
SHARE Hotline
SHARE maintains a confidential hotline, (617) 495-9100, which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by SHARE counselors. You may call the hotline for issues including but not limited to:
- Sexual harassment
- Stalking
- Domestic violence
- Dating concerns

You do not need to be a member of a particular faith tradition to speak with any chaplain. All Harvard Chaplains welcome conversations with students, faculty, and staff from any background or belief system.
