In 1983, Kevin Bryant began his law enforcement career as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Somerville. In 1987, he was hired as a Police Officer for the Somerville Housing Authority. By 1991, Bryant had joined the Harvard University Police Department. After 29 years of dedicated service, Sergeant Bryant retired from HUPD in December 2020.
Kevin Bryant was ordained as a Deacon and later as a Minister at the historic Myrtle Baptist Church in Newton, Massachusetts. He currently serves as an Affiliated Baptist Reverend at Memorial Church at Harvard University and is also a Baptist Chaplain for the university. Additionally, Reverend Bryant is the Chaplain for the Harvard University Police, Newton Police, and Arlington Police Department. He earned his master’s degree from Andover Newton Theological School in 2017.
Minister Bryant is a member of the National Organization of Church Security and Safety Management, a recovery coach, and a kenpo karate instructor.
