In 1983 Kevin Bryant started his law enforcement career as a Somerville Auxiliary Police Officer. In 1987 got hired as a Somerville Housing Authority Police Officer. In 1991 Bryant became a member the Harvard University Police Department.

Sergeant Bryant retired from HUPD in December 2020 after 29 years of service.

Kevin Bryant was ordained as a Deacon and subsequently as a Minister at the historic Myrtle Baptist Church in Newton Massachusetts. Minister Bryant is an Affiliated Baptist Minister at the Memorial Church/Harvard University. He is also a Harvard University Baptist Chaplain and the Chaplain for the Harvard University Police, Newton Police and Arlington Police Department. Bryant received his Master’s Degree from Andover Newton Theological School. (2017)

Minister Bryant is a member of the National Organization of Church Security and Safety Management.

Bryant is an advocate for The Greater Boston Food Bank and a board member with the Boston-based Youth Advocacy Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the school-to-prison pipeline in Massachusetts.

He is also a Recovery Coach for Ellenhorn. Ellenhorn is a Program for Assertive Community Treatment (P.A.C.T.)
